UKRAINE
On Sunday June 5th I will be going to Hungary to work with men who are regularly going into Ukraine, delivering humanitarian aid and doing evangelism.
The country of Ukraine is about as large as the state of Texas. We will be traveling in and out of the west side of the country and removed from the war in the east.
WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS
In Matthew 24:6-7 Jesus said, 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
Jesus knew in advance not only that it was going to happen. He also knew where, when, why, etc. He knew there would be acts of aggression, those in defense of their country and those in defense of their ideas. He knew some would suffer as innocent bystanders as their homes, family and livelihood were destroyed.
As followers of Jesus ours is a message of hope. We have a unique opportunity to be light and salt to all people, even more so during times of trouble, peril and great distress. If we focus on darkness and despair we will be paralyzed by fear. We should be more focused than ever before on bringing light and hope to those who have experienced sorrows untold.
As ambassadors of the most high God we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
