UKRAINE

On Sunday June 5, I went to Budapest, Hungary on my way to Ukraine in an effort to be the hands and feet of Jesus to displaced people. While in Hungary I helped Jim and Laura Pranger in their efforts to minister to Ukrainian refugees in Budapest.

I also went with them to a Hungarian/Ukrainian border town – Berehove, Ukraine. This is where I spent most of my time.

While there we did evangelism in the town square, appropriately named “Heroes Square.” The name of the square is written in both Ukrainian and Hungarian.

We also went to the local army base and were able to have Bible studies with a few soldiers on various occasions.

Berehove was established 1000 years ago in 1063. At various times throughout her history she has belonged to five different countries. The picture at left is part of a brick street on the town square.

During evangelism I had some good conversations. I don’t speak Ukrainian but many within the country speak Russian as a second language, as do I.

Upon arrival it seemed like the best thing to do was to ask lots of questions. I learned many things during my time in Ukraine. Now it’s necessary to process that information and use it to further Christ’s kingdom business. Tammy and I are actively pursuing avenues of ministry within this region of the world. Please pray for us.

I am so grateful to all who gave to make this trip financially possible. Your generosity made a world of difference. Also, my Mother passed away shortly after the trip began and I returned to Texas for a few days to attend her funeral. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
