ENTERING KIEV

KIEV

What a great experience.

“HAVE A GREAT DAY!”

We spent our time in the central district passing out tracts and talking to people.

Throughout the entire trip, every time someone took one of the tracts I would tell them to have a great day.

Kevin (L) Olexander (C) and his friend. Jesus made a difference!

Olexander

He was passing by and stopped. His eyes were bright with wonder  and asked, “What is this?” I told him it was good news, the Gospel. He responded by saying, “I got saved!”

That surprised me, to say the least. I said, “tell me about it.”

He said three years ago he was a drug addict. All of his thoughts were on suicide. He didn’t see the usefulness of living.

Then he went to a rehab center. They helped him get off the drugs and they taught him scripture.

I encouraged him saying, “this is a great testimony, tell me more.”

He continued saying after a year in the center he repented and trusted Christ as his Savior. After another year in the center he was baptized.

I kept encouraging him to tell me more.

By this time he was quoting scripture, preaching to me, telling me that Jesus is a wonderful Savior.

Then I told him how important it is for him to share his testimony every time he has the opportunity.

He also wanted to know what kind of booklet we were selling. I told him they were not for sale.

He was probably 20 years old, very curious, and short. The booklets are in Ukrainian and he asked me to help him read it since his language was Russian.

I told him I couldn’t help him much, that I’m American and my native language is English. He didn’t believe me and wanted to know why I was speaking Russian if I was an American.

With great difficulty he asked in English, “how old are you?” I answered him in English and he acted like he was shocked that I could answer in English.

The conversation continued in Russian. I asked to take a selfie with him and he was absolutely against it.

TAKING THE TEST
The name of the tract is “Are You An Intelligent Person? Test Yourself

TAKING THE TEST

One of the things that was interesting as we passed out the tract “Are You An Intelligent Person? Test Yourself” was seeing people take the booklet, sit down with their friends, take out a pen, and begin testing themselves. That is what these two young ladies did while sitting on the bench.

Playfully I would tell people “Failing grades are not acceptable!”

10,000 IS NOT ENOUGH

It was interesting that in Kiev we ran out of the tracts that I brought to Ukraine. While there we started using other stuff.
