On July 31, 2017 Tammy and I moved back to Texas from St Petersburg, Russia.

In the fall of 2019 we went back to St Petersburg, Russia to check on the ministries we left. One evening the church I planted was having a Bible study and I went to it. I arrived before the pastor. However, four men were already at the church waiting for the meeting to begin. All of them came into the church after I left. I didn’t know a single person there. So, I prepared myself a cup of coffee and listened to their conversation without saying a word.

When the pastor arrived he came in and said, “Hey guys, this is Kevin Plaster.” One of the men immediately began straitening his clothes, and doing everything he could to make himself presentable to someone important. Two of the men laughed because he was somewhat animated. I smiled and made acquaintances with them.

Later, I realized that this was the biggest compliment I had ever been given in my life. The pastor and members of the church had to have spoken very favorably of me in order for this man to have responded as he did. I am eternally grateful for their friendship and kindnesses to me. It was a very pleasant surprise.
